BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Salvation Army of Bryan-College Station recently launched a $9.1 million campaign for a new Center of Hope.
A comprehensive study concluded that The Salvation Army’s current facilities and programs are unequipped to meet the growing needs in Bryan-College Station. It identified the need to expand and modernize the Cavitt Avenue facility in order to align with the Pathway of Hope initiative, designed to not only treat the symptoms of poverty, but break the cycle of crisis and vulnerability.
A one-stop social services and residential facility will be located on a campus-like setting with state of the art amenities, expansive capabilities and flexible spaces to suit many needs
It will offer an administration and family service center, transitional housing, a youth service center, a client-choice food pantry, a chapel, a commercial kitchen, a congregate dining room, case worker meeting rooms, laundry rooms, lounge areas, computer labs, classrooms and administrative offices.
Other than the chapel, the current Bryan facility will be torn down to make room for the Center of Hope.
